Initiatives and Measures

Recommendation

Prop 1 - State Water Bond:

No

California has approved 15 out of 16 water bonds placed on the ballot. Yet there has not been a significant improvement in the availability of water. This bond does no better. This $7 billion bond is laden with special interest pork but improves water storage capacity by less than 1%. More than this, this bond establishes funding to remove three existing dams in northern California.

Prop 2 - Rainy Day Surplus:

No

This measure reduces the annual minimum amount required to deposit into the reserve account from $3 billion to just $800 million and makes the debt repayment provision “optional” after fifteen years.   Enables the legislature and governor to use the reserve account to ensure state employee pensions are paid.

Prop 45 - Healthcare Insurance Rate Changes:

No

A measure developed by trial lawyers to benefit trial lawyers. Obamacare created a massive bureaucracy and forced hundreds of thousands to lose health coverage and this measure further compounds the problem.
Prop 46 - Drug and Alcohol Testing of Doctors:

No

Don’t be fooled, this is another measure developed by trial lawyers to benefit trial lawyers. Drug testing of doctors is only a cover so they can increase the amount of money they can get from pain and suffering awards.
Prop 47 - Criminal Sentences:

No

If approved, it is estimated that more than 10,000 jailed criminals will be set free and reduces sentencing requirements for major crimes keeping career criminals out of jail and in your neighborhood.
Prop 48 - Indian Gaming Compacts:

No

The worst thing for economic depression is gambling.

Measure C - Galt City Clerk

No

Appointments by city councils create the opportunity for cronyism. If the elected clerk doesn’t perform, he or she can be recalled.

Measure D - Isleton Proposed Tax

No

A city cannot tax itself into solvency or prosperity.

Measure E - Isleton Proposed Tax (#2)

No

If one tax won’t work, why would a second tax be any better?

Measure G - Folsom School Bonds

No

A new bond is a new tax. Just say, “No.”

Measure H - Rancho Cordova Proposed Tax

No

A city cannot tax itself into solvency or prosperity.

Measure J - Natomas School Bonds

No

This district has a terrible track record with managing its budget. A new bond won’t make “bad management” better simply by giving it more money.

Measure K - Robla School Bonds

No

A new bond is a new tax. Just say, “No.”

Measure L - Sacramento Strong Mayor

Yes

Sacramento City Council has a horrible record of making proper financial decisions…and, passing its responsibility to an unaccountable city manager doesn’t make things better. It’s time for accountability and change in Sacramento.
